The goal was a further improvement of the production process with focus on material and heat treatment optimizations. In the 3-year research project the yield strength of our components was increased by 40% and the elongation to fracture by 80%. In January 2019, the Austrian Ministry of Science approved another research project named "Aluminum 4.0", focusing on the lifetime of impact extrusion tools. The most important results of "Impact Extrusion 2020" and "Aluminum 4.0" were presented at the Aluminum2000 Conference in Treviso (Italy) and awarded with the first prize by the professional audience and the jury of experts.
