Success through AI expertise

Great news from the training department at Neuman Aluminium: our apprentices Felix Gruber and Benjamin Schildböck secured second place at the Lower Austria Apprentice Hackathon!

Great news from the training department at Neuman Aluminium: our apprentices Felix Gruber and Benjamin Schildböck secured second place in the ‘Experts’ category at the Lower Austria Apprentice Hackathon. The award ceremony took place on 18 June 2025 at the Lower Austria Chamber of Commerce.

Technology, talent, teamwork

During an eight-hour online hackathon, Felix and Benjamin developed an innovative software solution for the responsible use of artificial intelligence – in line with the current requirements of the EU AI Act. This was followed by community voting. The aim of the competition was to promote the digital and social skills of the apprentices and strengthen their handling of future technologies.

‘We are incredibly proud of Felix and Benjamin's achievement. Their commitment, creativity and technical expertise made this ranking possible,’ said Carmen Brandl, Apprentice Management & Human Resources Development at Neuman Aluminium and PREFA.

The apprentice hackathon is an Austria-wide educational format that enables apprentices to work on practical digital topics of the future. Companies benefit from motivated skilled workers, a stronger employer brand and future-oriented apprentice training.
