Girls' Day 2025: Girls experience technology up close

As part of this campaign, we welcomed 25 girls from the 3rd grade of Kirchberg Middle School to Marktl on April 24, 2025.

This year's Girls' Day took place on April 24, 2025 - a day on which girls throughout Austria were given exciting insights into technical, manual and scientific professions. Neuman Aluminium and PREFA also took part and opened their doors to give young, interested schoolgirls their first impressions of the world of industry.

Curious about technology: A day at Neuman Aluminum & PREFA

25 schoolgirls from Kirchberg secondary school visited and the focus was on trying things out for themselves: from making a personalized key fob on the lathe to troubleshooting at the pneumatics stand - the girls were able to experience a wide range of production steps and modern technologies up close.

Understanding technology - breaking down role models

Girls' Day is an important initiative to promote equal opportunities and strengthen female role models in traditionally male-dominated professions. The participants not only learned about some of the production processes, but were also able to talk directly to some of our apprentices - in a practical way and at eye level.

“As a regional company, our annual participation in Girls' Day is very important to us. Only when companies open their doors to young people can we manage to increase enthusiasm for technology - especially among girls,” says Carmen Brandl, Apprentice Management & HR Development at Neuman Aluminium and PREFA.

The aim is to awaken enthusiasm for technology, reduce fear of contact and create prospects. Because those who discover their own talents and experience where they are needed can shape the future with confidence.

We are delighted with the interest shown by the schoolgirls and are proud to have been part of this great initiative again this year.
