The Compass of the Circular Economy and the Industry 4.0 platform have listed Neuman Aluminium with the innovative Neucan 3.1 alloy as a good practice example of sustainable material use in aluminum processing. We were already delighted to receive a Trigos nomination for the project in 2023. The current listing shows once again that we are taking on a pioneering role in the circular economy and can serve as inspiration for other companies.
What is Neucan 3.1?
Our patented alloy technology, which was developed in cooperation with Tubex, specifically uses elements from secondary aluminum such as copper, manganese and chromium. This enables us to achieve:
Reduced wall thicknesses of aerosol cans while maintaining or improving strength and retaining formability
Lower material usage and therefore lower CO₂ emissions
Greater recyclability thanks to targeted composition
Integration of deposit systems for closed material cycles and availability of sufficient quantities of secondary aluminum raw materials Geringerer Materialeinsatz und damit weniger CO₂-Emissionen
The result?
More sustainable production that requires fewer primary raw materials and reduces CO₂ emissions. This development has also proven that sustainable thinking and the highest material requirements can go hand in hand.
Actively driving forward sustainable development
Being named as good practice shows that we play a leading role in the development of sustainable technologies. At the same time, it underlines our aspiration to live innovation as an integral part of our corporate DNA and to constantly develop it further.
We are delighted with the recognition - and see it as an incentive to continue actively shaping the circular economy in an exemplary manner.
